Double sided pet tape is a versatile tool that comes in handy for many uses including mounting, sealing and installing. It's often undetectable as it sits between two layers, holding them together temporarily or permanently, depending on the style of tape. Staples carries several sizes for multiple tasks from brands including Duck, Scotch and 3M.
Backed by Jiangsu Gelly Adhesive Material Technology Co., Ltd and our 30 years of adhesive expertise, our Automotive Grade LSE Acrylic Foam Tape is specifically engineered to solve the most challenging bonding issues in the automotive and manufacturing industries. Featuring a high-density black or grey closed-cell acrylic foam core coated with a modified LSE (Low Surface Energy) acrylic adhesive, this tape provides exceptional bonding strength to difficult substrates like PP, PE, EPDM, and powder-coated metals without the need for a primer. The dark-colored foam core perfectly conceals bond lines and gaps, making it the ultimate choice for automotive exterior trim, interior panels, and structural assemblies where aesthetics and durability are paramount.
Primerless LSE Adhesion: The specially modified acrylic adhesive "wets out" quickly and bonds aggressively to low surface energy (LSE) plastics and powder-coated paints, eliminating the time and cost of applying chemical primers.
Aesthetic Gap Concealment: Available in black and grey foam cores, the tape blends seamlessly with dark automotive trims, wheel arches, and interior panels, hiding bond lines and preventing unsightly white edges from showing through gaps.
Automotive-Grade Weatherability: Engineered to withstand extreme temperature cycling (-40°C to +120°C), UV radiation, high humidity, and salt spray, meeting strict OEM automotive exterior and interior durability standards.
Viscoelastic Stress Dissipation: The acrylic foam core acts as a shock absorber, effectively distributing dynamic wind loads, road vibrations, and accommodating the different thermal expansion coefficients between plastic trims and metal body panels.
Waterproof & Chemical Resistant: The closed-cell structure creates a permanent seal against water, car wash chemicals, and environmental contaminants, preventing corrosion and moisture ingress.
Automotive Exterior Trim: Permanent mounting of body side moldings, wheel arch flares, roof ditch moldings, emblems, and spoiler lips to painted or powder-coated car bodies.
Automotive Interior Assembly: Bonding dashboard components, door panel inserts, center consoles, and acoustic dampening pads where dark-colored tape is required to hide gaps.
LSE Plastic Fabrication: Joining and mounting polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and TPO materials in consumer electronics, appliances, and industrial enclosures.
Powder-Coated Metal Assemblies: Mounting nameplates, handles, and decorative trims to powder-coated aluminum or steel frames in architectural and furniture applications.

Our AdvantagesOur Advantages
A Strong and Established Tape Manufacturer

LSE substrates, such as Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), EPDM rubber, and powder-coated paints, have a "slick" molecular surface that standard adhesives cannot grip, causing the tape to peel off easily. Our LSE-modified acrylic adhesive is chemically engineered to "wet out" and flow into these difficult surfaces, creating a strong, permanent bond without the need for harsh chemical primers.
In most cases, no primer is required. This tape is designed to be "primerless" on common automotive LSE plastics and powder coatings, saving you significant time and labor costs on the assembly line. However, for extremely difficult or contaminated surfaces, a quick wipe with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) is highly recommended to ensure maximum bond strength.
Black and grey foam cores are specifically chosen for aesthetic gap concealment. When mounting dark automotive exterior trims (like wheel arch flares or body side moldings) or interior panels, a black/grey tape blends into the shadows and hides the bond line. If a clear or white tape were used, it would create an unsightly bright line visible through any slight gaps between the trim and the car body.
Yes. Our automotive-grade LSE acrylic tape is rigorously tested to withstand extreme thermal shock and temperature cycling from -40°C up to +120°C (long-term). Its viscoelastic foam core absorbs the stress caused by the different thermal expansion rates of plastic trims and metal car bodies, preventing the tape from cracking or failing during harsh winter freezes or scorching summer sun exposure.
