Double sided pet tape is a versatile tool that comes in handy for many uses including mounting, sealing and installing. It's often undetectable as it sits between two layers, holding them together temporarily or permanently, depending on the style of tape. Staples carries several sizes for multiple tasks from brands including Duck, Scotch and 3M.
Backed by Jiangsu Gelly Adhesive Material Technology Co., Ltd and our 30 years of adhesive expertise, our Double Sided Acrylic Tape is a high-performance, 100% solid viscoelastic acrylic foam tape engineered as a premium alternative to traditional mechanical fasteners and liquid adhesives. Unlike standard PE/EVA foam tapes, this pure acrylic tape provides exceptional structural bonding strength, outstanding UV/weather resistance, and the unique ability to dissipate dynamic stresses. It creates a permanent, invisible, and waterproof seal, making it the ultimate solution for demanding automotive, architectural, and electronics applications.
Viscoelastic Stress Dissipation: The 100% solid acrylic core acts as a shock absorber, effectively distributing dynamic wind loads, vibrations, and accommodating the different thermal expansion coefficients between bonded substrates (e.g., glass and metal) without cracking.
Ultra-High Structural Bonding: Delivers extreme peel and shear strength (≥35 N/25mm), creating a permanent structural bond that replaces rivets, screws, and welding, resulting in a smooth, aesthetically pleasing exterior.
Extreme Weather & UV Resistance: Formulated without rubber or PE carriers that degrade, it offers outstanding resistance to UV radiation, ozone, and extreme temperature fluctuations, preventing yellowing or embrittlement over decades of outdoor exposure.
Waterproof & Sealing Performance: The solid acrylic structure creates an immediate, permanent seal against water, moisture, and dust infiltration, eliminating the need for secondary liquid sealants.
Invisible & Clean Aesthetics: The transparent nature of the tape ensures an invisible bond line, maximizing the optical clarity and modern design of frameless glass, translucent signage, and decorative trims.
Automotive Exterior & Interior Trim: Permanent bonding of emblems, nameplates, wheel weights, roof racks, and decorative moldings to vehicle bodies.
Architectural Cladding & Signage: Mounting Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP), stiffener bonding, edge-bonding resin-filled glass, and assembling backlit translucent signs.
Electronics & Appliances: Structural bonding of LCD screens, touch panels, and securing internal components requiring high-temperature and vibration resistance.
General Industrial Assembly: Joining high surface energy (HSE) substrates like metals, glass, and polycarbonates in manufacturing processes.

A Strong and Established Tape Manufacturer

Standard PE/EVA foam tape uses a soft sponge carrier, which is cost-effective for light-duty gap filling but degrades under UV light and high stress. Our 100% Solid Acrylic Tape has no sponge core; it is made entirely of viscoelastic acrylic. This provides significantly higher structural bonding strength, superior weather/UV resistance, and the ability to absorb dynamic stresses (like wind loads and thermal expansion), making it suitable for heavy-duty outdoor and structural applications.
Acrylic structural tapes are viscoelastic. Upon initial application, they achieve approximately 50% of their ultimate strength. At room temperature (20°C-25°C), it takes 24 hours to reach 90% strength, and 72 hours to achieve 100% ultimate structural bond. Applying firm pressure (using a J-roller) during application is critical to ensure full contact with the substrate.
Surface preparation is strictly required for structural bonding. Both surfaces must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or release agents. We recommend wiping the surfaces with a 50/50 mixture of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and water, and allowing it to dry completely before applying the tape. For low surface energy (LSE) plastics like PP or PE, a primer may be required.
Absolutely. We utilize high-precision die-cutting and kiss-cutting equipment to supply your acrylic tape in custom shapes, gaskets, or continuous rolls with specific spacing, perfectly tailored for your automated pick-and-place assembly lines in electronics or automotive manufacturing.
