Unlike standard rubber-based or cheap hot-melt adhesives that quickly yellow and degrade under sunlight, our acrylic tape maintains its optical clarity and structural integrity even after years of outdoor UV exposure, making it perfect for backlit signs and light boxes.
The tape features an "optical clarity" design. Both the acrylic foam carrier and the adhesive are crystal clear and share a similar refractive index to glass and acrylic (PMMA). This ensures that light passes through the bond line with minimal distortion, scattering, or reflection, resulting in a truly invisible bond for premium displays and glass crafts.
This transparent acrylic tape is designed for High Surface Energy (HSE) substrates like glass, metals, polycarbonate, and PMMA. If you need to bond difficult LSE plastics (like PP, PE, or powder-coated paints), we recommend applying a specialized LSE Primer to the plastic surface first, or contacting our technical team to request our specialized LSE-modified acrylic tape series.
Because this is a high-strength structural tape, removal requires care. We recommend using a thin nylon fishing line or dental floss to "saw" through the foam core, separating the two bonded glass/acrylic panels. Any remaining adhesive residue can then be rolled off with your thumb or dissolved using a commercial citrus-based adhesive remover or Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), leaving the glass perfectly clean.
