Compared with metallic balls, soda lime glass balls are non-magnetic, corrosion resistant and electrically insulating, making them suitable for flow-control systems and general industrial applications.

Soda lime glass balls are commonly selected where economical cost and smooth surface performance are more important than high mechanical strength.

Due to the brittle nature of glass materials, soda lime glass balls are generally not recommended for high-impact or high-load rolling applications.

Soda lime glass balls are also not recommended for applications involving strong alkali environments or severe thermal shock conditions.
