Double sided pet tape is a versatile tool that comes in handy for many uses including mounting, sealing and installing. It's often undetectable as it sits between two layers, holding them together temporarily or permanently, depending on the style of tape. Staples carries several sizes for multiple tasks from brands including Duck, Scotch and 3M.
Backed by Jiangsu Gelly Adhesive Material Technology Co., Ltd and our 30 years of adhesive expertise, our Double Sided PET Film Tape Series is engineered for high-precision industrial applications where dimensional stability and tensile strength are critical. Unlike soft tissue tapes, our PET (Polyester) film carrier provides zero-stretch handling, making it the industry standard for precision die-cutting, kiss-cutting, and automated pick-and-place assembly. Available in both Red (for visual identification and easy liner removal) and Clear (for invisible bonding), this tape delivers reliable, high-temperature performance for electronics, graphic arts, and structural mounting.
Exceptional Dimensional Stability: The rigid PET film carrier prevents stretching, shrinking, or curling during high-speed slitting and precision die-cutting processes, ensuring tight tolerances for small electronic components.
High Tensile Strength & Tear Resistance: Unlike tissue tapes that tear easily, PET film offers extreme tensile strength, preventing web-breaks during automated dispensing and high-speed roll-to-roll manufacturing.
Elevated Temperature Resistance: Withstands continuous temperatures up to 100°C (and short-term spikes higher), making it suitable for components that undergo wave soldering, reflow, or operate in warm environments.
Clean Removal & No Residue: The high-quality acrylic adhesive formulation ensures strong bonding to various substrates while allowing for clean, residue-free removal from protective surfaces or temporary masking applications.
Color-Coded Options (Red/Clear): The red PET film allows operators to easily identify the tape layer and facilitates quick, error-free liner removal during manual assembly, while the clear version provides an invisible bond.
Precision Die-Cutting & Converting: The ideal carrier for rotary and flatbed die-cutting of gaskets, insulators, and EMI/RFI shielding materials due to its non-stretch properties.
Electronics & Display Assembly: Bonding LCD/OLED modules, touch panels, FPC (Flexible Printed Circuits), and lightweight internal components in smartphones, tablets, and wearables.
Nameplate & Graphic Overlays: Mounting metal/plastic nameplates, membrane switches, and graphic overlays to appliance panels and automotive dashboards.
Film Splicing & Core Starting: High-strength splicing of photographic film, magnetic tapes, and industrial films where a thin, non-bulky splice is required.
Construction: PET Film Carrier (25μm) + Acrylic Adhesive + 100g White Release Paper
| Series / Color | Total Thickness (μm) | Peel Strength (N/25mm) | Temp Resistance & Key Features |
| Red PET Film | 100 μm | ≥ 8.0 | 100°C. Color-coded for easy identification & liner removal. |
| Clear PET Film (Standard) | 100 μm | ≥ 8.0 | 100°C. Invisible bond, high dimensional stability. |
| Clear PET Film (High Tack) | 120 μm | ≥ 15.0 | 100°C. Thicker adhesive layer for textured surfaces. |
| Clear PET Film (Heavy Duty) | 150 μm | ≥ 20.0 | 100°C. Maximum holding power for structural mounting. |
*Note: Holding power for all PET series is ≥24 hours. Custom widths, lengths, and specific release liners (e.g., clear PET liner for optical applications) are available upon request.

A Strong and Established Tape Manufacturer

Tissue tape is soft, conformable, and hand-tearable, making it great for general mounting. However, it stretches and tears easily during high-speed automated dispensing. PET film tape uses a rigid polyester carrier that offers zero-stretch dimensional stability and extreme tensile strength. This ensures tight tolerances during precision rotary or flatbed die-cutting, and prevents web-breaks in automated pick-and-place assembly lines.
The Red PET film serves two critical purposes in manufacturing: 1) Visual Identification: Operators can easily see the tape layer on automated assembly lines, ensuring no steps are missed. 2) Easy Liner Removal: The contrast between the red tape and the white release liner makes it incredibly easy for manual operators to find the edge and peel off the liner quickly without using fingernails or tools, reducing assembly time and damage to the adhesive.
Our standard PET series offers a long-term temperature resistance of 100°C, which is suitable for most internal component bonding and operational environments. If your specific application requires surviving extreme reflow soldering or wave soldering processes (up to 200°C - 260°C), please contact our technical team to request our specialized High-Temperature Polyimide (Kapton) or specialized high-temp PET series.
Absolutely. Because PET film is dimensionally stable, it is the perfect material for precision kiss-cutting and die-cutting. We can supply your tape in custom 2D shapes, gaskets, or continuous rolls with specific spacing and extended release liner tabs (fingers), making it incredibly easy for operators to peel and apply the parts on your assembly line.
