Unlike conventional BOPP plastic tapes that take hundreds of years to break down, our degradable tape is made from plant extracts and plant fiber. When disposed of and buried in soil (exposed to natural microorganisms and moisture), the substrate will begin to significantly decompose within approximately 180 days (6 months). Please note that it will not degrade while sitting on a shelf or in a dry warehouse; it requires soil/microbial contact to activate the degradation process.
