Detailed Description

Also known as super austenitic stainless steel balls, 904L balls are used in highly corrosive chemical and marine-related environments.

904L Stainless Steel Balls

904L stainless steel balls are manufactured from high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with elevated nickel, molybdenum and copper content.
Compared with standard stainless steels such as 304 or 316, 904L offers significantly improved resistance to acids, chlorides and pitting corrosion, making it suitable for severe corrosion-sensitive industrial environments.

FAQ
What is the advantage of 904L stainless steel balls?
904L offers significantly better corrosion resistance than 304 or 316, especially in acidic and chloride-containing environments.
How does 904L compare to 316 stainless steel?
904L contains higher nickel and molybdenum content, providing improved resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and acids compared with 316.
Are 904L stainless steel balls magnetic?
904L is generally non-magnetic in annealed condition, although slight magnetism may appear after cold working.
Can 904L balls be used in bearing applications?
904L is primarily selected for corrosion resistance rather than hardness or fatigue performance. For high-load bearing applications, 440C or chrome steel is generally preferred.
Are 904L stainless steel balls suitable for seawater environments?
904L provides excellent resistance in many marine and chloride-containing environments, depending on actual operating conditions.
Can you support custom sizes or specifications?
Yes, custom sizes, packaging and surface conditions are available depending on requirements.
Can you provide samples for testing?
Yes, samples are available for evaluation and testing purposes.
Do you provide inspection reports or certificates?
Yes, inspection reports and material certificates are available upon request.
