Application

Calcium β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate (HMB) can reduce catabolism and promote gains in strength and fat free mass in untrained individuals initiating training. It has also been hypothesized that supplementing the diet with HMB in humans may inhibit protein degradation during periods associated with increased proteolysis such as resistance training.
